WELCOME TO CASEE
Community Aid and Social Education Empowerment (CASEE) formerly CASEC is a Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in 2019 under the NGO Act of 2002 with Reg. No. 00NGO/R/0291 The organization operates nationally and is based in Arusha. The organisation started in 1994 as a capacity-building organisation through a partnership with Oxfam UK. CASEE has the mandate to empower communities and civil society organizations in order to reduce poverty and social injustices. CASEE does this by emphasising human resource development as a basis for tackling income and non-income poverty.

OUR PROJECTS
WALINDE WAENDELEE

Currently, CASEE implements WALINDE WAENDELEE, project was designed through a participatory approach where different key stakeholders such as community members, pupils, ward and village leaders and district officials were involved. The proposed project will work in education, livelihood and child protection. It is a five years project (2020 -2024).
ELIMU SAWA KWA WOTE
This project was designed through participatory approach where different key stakeholders such as community members, pupils, ward and village leaders as well as district officials were involved. The project will strive to improve access to quality education through increasing attendance and performance rate of pupils in 30 primary schools in Karatu district. This will be achieved through improving teaching quality, strengthening primary school committees, creating a safe and conducive school learning and teaching environment as well as improving parents and community member engagement in the education process of their children..


Equal Right to Quality Education
CASEE implemented Equal Right to Quality Education project in Mbulu, Kilolo, and Karatu District. The project work in 45 primary and secondary schools involving parents, ward development committees and education authorities. By encouraging everyone to get involved, CASEE increased the enrolment, retention and achievement of children in both primary and secondary schools. The project was implemented for five years (2014-2019) and was funded by Comic Relief.
School Water and Sanitation Programme (SWASH)
CASEE was also involved in improving school water and sanitation activities (SWASH) in Karatu district. A total of 12 primary schools were engaged in the intervention by using national guidelines and accountability approach in SWASH. While the project was implemented in 2013 through the support of SNV and the Netherlands embassy; it involved number of stakeholders including school committees, village governments, district council, and other local partner organizations.

Installation of water filter system

Laja primary school is located about 50 km South West of Karatu town. The school was known for its poor learning and teaching environment before major rehabilitation that was done in 2017 through the support from Michael Matthews Foundation (MMF). However, despite this improvement, pupils and teachers were still facing the challenge of accessing safe and clean water at the school. among education stakeholders in the District. In August 2022, one of the MMF friends, the Ferrand family visited the school and decided to support the water filter system after noticing the challenge children and their teachers were facing.
