School Water and Sanitation Programme (SWASH)
Access to clean and safe water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene practices is essential for creating a healthy and conducive learning environment in schools. In many rural areas of Tanzania, inadequate Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities have continued to affect pupils’ attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being—especially among girls. Recognizing this challenge, CASEE undertook initiatives aimed at strengthening School Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (SWASH) systems in collaboration with local communities and development partners.

While the project was implemented in 2013 through the support of SNV and the Netherlands embassy; it involved a number of stakeholders including school committees, village governments, district councils, and other local partner organizations.
