Elimu Sawa Kwa Wote
“Elimu Sawa kwa Wote” project aims to enhance the quality of education in Karatu District since 2020. Phase one was carried out from July 2020 to June 2023, focusing on improving education in 15 schools. Phase two, spanning from 2023 to 2026, concentrates on developing children’s competencies in foundational literacy and numeracy (the 3Rs), key subjects (English, Mathematics, Science), gender equality, and child rights in 30 primary schools within Karatu District.

Elimu Sawa kwa Wote – Project Summary
Elimu Sawa kwa Wote is a six-year education project (July 2020 – June 2026) implemented by CASEE in Karatu District, with support from the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation (Switzerland). The project aims to enhance access to quality education by increasing attendance, improving academic performance, and creating safer, more engaging learning environments across 30 primary schools in the Arusha region.
Project Goal
To ensure that all children regardless of background access quality, inclusive, and supportive education that promotes their full academic and social development.
Key Focus Areas
Improving teaching quality through teacher training and capacity building programs.
Strengthening school committees for better governance and decision-making.
Creating safe and conducive learning environments through classroom rehabilitation and improved school infrastructure.
Enhancing parental and community involvement in the education of their children.
Target Beneficiaries
16,264 children from pre-primary to Standard Seven across 30 primary schools (direct beneficiaries).
2,400+ parents and guardians (directly and indirectly reached).
150 teachers benefiting from training and capacity-building programs.
Key Achievements to Date
Renovation of the boys’ dormitory at Endamaghan Primary School, benefiting children from Hadzabe and Datoga communities.
Construction of 3 new classrooms and rehabilitation of 15 classrooms across five schools.
Provision of 570 student desks to six primary schools.
Parents’ dialogue meetings held in 30 schools to emphasize the importance of education.
Strengthened school feeding programs for improved student attendance and concentration.
Increased community awareness on child protection and enhanced community contribution to school improvements.
Capacity building for teachers:
60 teachers trained in the 3Rs (Reading, Writing, Arithmetic)
60 teachers trained in guidance and counseling
